Practical EMC for loT

This video course provides an in-depth overview of the requirements of ETSI and other related standards, that apply to radio equipment in the EU. The course contains 15 videos showing certification testing of a radio product in its entirety. This course covers various topics including radiated spurious emissions (RSE), testing of combined radio and non-radio equipment, application of transient voltages and surges, ESD, radiated immunity, conducted immunity, voltage dips and interruptions, harmonics and flicker, electromagnetic field exposure (EMF) and many others. Each topic introduced in the course is followed by a practical demonstration of the testing setup and the result. The use of typical EMC debugging tools is also demonstrated for DIY investigation. This course will allow you to deeply understand the requirements of IoT product design, which will help you to avoid expensive test failures and provide an accurate estimation of the development costs.

Detailed description of the 'Practical EMC for IoT' video course

● Introduction to Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2013/53/EU and the main standards that apply to Radio Equipment testing, including ETSI EN 301 489-1 (Radio EMC), ETSI EN 301 908-1 (Spurious Emissions), EN 62311 (EMF Exposure), EN 62368-1 (Electrical Safety) and EN 61000-4-x immunity standards

● A practical demonstration is provided for each test, listing the equipment that is needed and the test setup. Every detail is carefully explained in a test laboratory conditions, based on a real product certification example.

● EMC debugging and the physics of electromagnetic (EM)-wave propagation are also explained in a tutorial manner, that will allow you not only to understand the fundamental concepts, but also to apply them in practical scenarios for a calculation of EM Fields (EMF) Exposure and the testing distance for the product.
